USSR 1989 Adidas Home Authentic Football Shirt, Medium

CCCP, Soviet Union, USSR call it what you want but this was the last home shirt of the former Societ States. There was an interim "CIS" team, who were allowed to partake in the 1992 Euro's but it was an interim solution before the full transition into the Russian national team among with the other former states. 

The unique 'red meat' template is a distinctive pattern which grew a cult status as it was originally marketed as the home shirt ahead of the 1990 World Cup but it was never used in a competitive match. It was however used by the women's team and some youth teams in 1990 and 1991. During the World Cup, the Soviet Union used a far more peeled back design in keeping with 90's traditional styling with some geometric shoulder panels. 

The lack of an "Adidas" logo on the front of the shirt is actually correct and how they were manufactured. This particular shirt was Made in Yugoslavia. At the time, Soviet Union highly restricted direct imports from western countries. Adidas made an agreement to have a lot of these shirts manufactured in the Eastern Bloc and probably had a censored retail agreement, which is why the Adidas trefoil never made it onto these shirts - it allowed every day Soviets to buy and wear them too!
